This Spider set up home outside my kitchen window.
Never managed a dorsal view as it was in an awkward corner to get near. Can it be ID'd from these shots?

At my kitchenwindow there is allways Meta segmentata (Metellina s.). That species is less firm then M. merianae.

Hi Tony and Klaas, thanks for taking the time to look at my Spider. I didn't expect it to be M.merianae which was my previous post Frown. Thought the colours were different, but I am looking through streaming eyes ( and all other orifices ) at the moment....MAN flu, or as my wife likes to call it "a slight cold". Sympathy factor--NILFrown.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
