Here is a Spider I photographed in October last year. Seems very colourful compared to the usual ones I normally find here. Can it be named? Roger Thomason attached the following image: [40.68Kb] Edited by Roger Thomason on 01-12-2008 02:01 |

Hello, Roger! This is a female Metellina merianae (Tetragnathidae). Also very frequent here around our house (seems to have proliferated explosively in the last 12 months...). Thanks yet again Juergen for the ID. I have this one on my Checklist, but it is under Metidae not Tetragnathidae. These are nice and colourful and I hope to get some better photo's next year with my current DSLR Camera, this was taken with a cheapo-ish Compact Camera. Regards Again.....Roger |

Hello, Roger! rogerthomason wrote: I have this one on my Checklist, but it is under Metidae not Tetragnathidae. The family Metidae does not exist any more. They were all put into the Tetragnathidae. List corrected. Metidae seemed like a better / easier to write name . Regards Roger |
