Thanks Gerard, Walter and Paul,
I didn't manage to catch it on Monday as I had to rush off to Athens, and now I am back but it is raining so I will have to add it to the list on your Det. Walter. But I will look again in the bog when it is sunny again. It is not a new record for Greece being already known from the mainland, but it is a nice edition to the list.

It is NOT a new record for Greece, the previous was based on our specimens (Greece: Apollonia, 40º39,036'N, 23º29,667'E, relict forest at Volvi Lake, h=60m, on fallen poplar, 30.05.2002, ♂, ♀; Ioanina, 39º41,296'N, 20º50,319'E, h=450m, 12.06.2002, 5 ♂, 33 ♀ (Kameneva, V. Korneyev, S. Korneyev) (SIZK)) was OMITTED in the revision of the Myennidini (Kameneva, E.P., Korneyev, V. A. 2006. Myennidini, a new tribe of the subfamily Otitinae (Diptera: Ulidiidae), with discussion of the suprageneric classification of the family. - Biotaxonomy of Tephritoidea. Isr. J. Entomol. Vol. 35-36: 497-586. Now this is fixed in a very recent paper by Elena Kameneva: New and Little-Known Ulidiidae (Diptera, Tephritoidea) from Europe. - Vestnik zoologii, 2008, 42(12).

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
