Very big Drosophilid ??

This keys out as a drosophild, but as the book doesn't mention fuscate wings and as it is right on the upper size limit, I would have said 6mm I have posted it here. Wetland Kerkini: Greece. May 25 to June 1st, 1485 ms

The 2 character states I consider I have made a mistake in are 1) the Dorsal Pre-apical bristle on the femur, because of the way the legs are folded and there are bristles all over the place, and 2) the vibrissae, in this photo I have indicated the bristles I have assumed are the vibrissae but I would be grateful for conformation, or if necessary correction.

Could be Stegana of Drosophilidae. Silmilar hunch-winged species occur in Lauxaniidae.

Thanks to you both. I think Paul is probably correct, there are two costal wing breaks, not obvious in the photo, so Lauxaniidae is not likely. |
