I am probably just an old boar, nagging about uninteresting details, but I would like to be certain anyway. Photographed this Empis yesterday in eastern Holland. At first I thought Empis opaca, but I think the legs are too dark. Then Empis tesselata, but it was quite small (some 8 mm) and I think the legs are a bit too reddish for E. tesselata. But I could be wrong there. Any other similar species? Your help is enormously appreciated.
