Today I've photographed this tiny bombylid in "El Burgo de Ebro", Zaragoza Ebro valley, NE Spain, a location near my city, dominated by gypsiferous steppe-lands with above all Rosmarinus officinalis, also Salsola vermiculata, Salsola kali, Krascheninikovia ceratoides, Helianthemum nummularium, Gypsophila struthium ssp. hispanica and Artemisia herba-alba. The landscape is not plain and the day have been very windy. There are also some wheat fields and roads in the zone. The fly sizes about 15 mm. long. Thanks, Regards |
