Hi,

still in Comana Natural Park.
in the morning a trip on the water to photo birds (not very successfuly) and late afternoon a trip in the forest with several flies photographed/collected (much more collected).

i think this is from Anthomyzidae, very frequent right now.
size ~3mm, several specimens collected.

thanks for the help,
cosmln

[EDIT]: title updated, thanks Jorge

It depends on how many pairs of dorsocentral setae there are. If there are three (that is what I can see, anyway), then this would be C. villosula. If it is two after all, then it is C. persimilis.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
