Hi, this very nice fly seems to have a lot of details that can help with ID. Where shall I put this one ? August 10. 2008 Helsinki, Finland.

I just wonder if this nice looking fly can be a member of Odiniidae ? I have never seen one and have none in my collections.

It is not O. boletina (well, at least not as the species is currently understood). I'd say this is O. ornata (Zett.) sensu Krivosheina, which may or may not be the same as O. rossi MacGowan & Rotheray, 2004.

Ok, Bei-Bienko key is the only one I have and with that it was clear boletina. Hmmm, in my side ornata is even better Grin I have one from 2006 and Kahis has it in his collections and now I have one for me. Grin Seems to be as rare as boletina. Thank You for correcting the ID.
