I would appreciate if you could help me with this one too.
It was quite large, aprox. 1 cm. Shot at 1800 masl in sunny mountain slope on some type of apium family plant with very small flowers. 03/08/2008

Thanks,

Guillermo.

any chance of a lateral head shot ?
It looks quit Dexiini, in which case Zeuxia sicardi comes in mind.
Which is very rare indeed.

Did you collect it ?

I did not collect it. In general I go quite light weighted.
This is the closest I can get to a lateral head shot. I will try to be more carefull next time with the orientation of the shots.

Yes, that is true. I should probably start to carry some bottles for capture and some type of net. The thing is that most of the photos I do during my work as a geologist in the field so I normally also have to take a hammer.

Still pity

Thanks Theo. Does that mean that we do not have the family? Next time, at least I will try to breathe deep and try to dedicate some more time to some lateral head shots.

Family is Tachinidae and Theo thought it was possibly from the tribe Dexiini Smile
