hi, today i was for couple of hours in the forest and on a dead/fallen beech (Fagus sylvestris) found a lot of this small fly (collected several specimens), found there also a nice male of Rosalia alpina. from Fauna EU is resulting that are 3 species in Romania from this genus (discoidea, intermedia and litura). can be narrowed at species level? thank you for the help, cosmln cosmln attached the following image: ![]() [111.62Kb] |

Hi, determination to the species level is not possible from these photos. P. litura have trichiae on R 4+5, P. intermedia have not, p. discoidea have not spot between antenae - so third image is not P. discoidea. Katka |
