I don't think so. This genus isn't distributed in Middle Europe. It is probably a Culex or a Culiseta species. May be, Tony Irwin has an idea... Nevertheless thanks for the suggestion! Edited by Sundew on 30-06-2008 09:54 |

It's usually a combination of many characters that leads to the answer. So photograph the legs, head, abdomen (dorsal and ventral) thorax (dorsal and very-close-up lateral), and ultra-close-up of male genitalia, and wings, of course. Or just catch the specimen!
