This is a muscid I think, all matt black except for the white tip to the abdomen. It also has a reddish frons. Seen this weekend along a mixed woodland ride.

Not really with this one I think - he's very worn, and may have been wet too - even with some more practice on Pollenia I don't think I'd like to say which species for this one.
