Dear forum,

I took this picture today in my garden. The shape makes me think of Tachinidae but I find the back not enough "spiky" Is it a Tachinid and can it be further identified?

I agree - Pollenia - see the wavy, golden hairs on the thorax and that chequered pattern on the abdomen - very distinctive Smile
