Could be E. megacephalus? 9th June 2008. M?laga, south Spain. In a garden, in Santolina flowers. Size: the normal in Eristalinus, more or less 8-9 mm. Thanks. Regards |

Aren't all Eristalinus with striped eyes E. taeniops? |

At least E. megacephalus with striped eyes in the South also. But I don't know if are more... I know four Iberian species in this genus and could be more. |

Eristalinus taeniops female. It's the only one who has striped eyes in Europe. The other species all have spotted eyes, including E. megacephalus. There's a picture of megacephalus in the gallery! greetings Greetings, Gerard Pennards |
