Hi All, This small fly approximately 3mm long was seen on a willow (salix) Am I correct in thinking it is one of the Tachinidae ? Location is South England and the picture was taken a couple of days ago. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Chas ChasMacey attached the following image: [118.88Kb] |

The anthomyiid genera looking roughtly like the fly seen above (Phorbia and Egle) are very common in the spring on willow flowers. It's been some time since I last looked at these and I'm not 100% sure if this fly belong to either of these genera.
