Hi,
Today I watched an Oedemera beetle that was attacked by a tiny fly and flew away in panic. The hapless attacker stayed for a while in the grass and I took some photos that are not very good, but the fly was extremely small. I recalled a thread of mine concerning a sphingid caterpillar with ceratopogonid haemolymph suckers (http://www.dipter...ad_id=8720) and suppose the present fly also belongs to the Ceratopogonidae. Can this be confirmed?
Thanks, Sundew
