Hi, I saw this wasp on 5-May-2008 in southern England flying around last year's Robin's Pincushion Galls (Diplolepis rosae). Is it safe to call them Orthopelma mediator or are there other ichneumonoid parasitoids of these galls?

Dear Camille, because it is from Diplolepis rosae it is almost certainly Orthopelma mediator. Best wishes, Kees Zwakhals cthirion |

Thanks! I always see these and say "Oh, an Orthopelma mediator!" ... so it's nice to know I haven't been wrong all these years! |
