Yes I agree - given the very broad thorax and the entire fly being apparently black it is most probably Lonchaeidae, with the long antennal flagellomere probably belonging to the genus Silba or maybe even Lonchaea Very little seems to be known about Japanese Lonchaeids so if anyone has any let me know

Yes definitely Lonchaeidae -with yellow basal tarsomeres looks like a Lonchaea species but with very long antennal flagellomere - not one I recognise

Thx! This species is not likely to be the same as the Presumed Lonchaeidae on this image. There are only two species of Lonchaeridae listed on the main island Honshu in the Japanese insect database, Lonchaea sylvatica Beling, 1873 and Silba excisa (Kertesz, 1901).
