I saw several Gonia today in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen (Theo will know the area!) in the Netherlands. (It's dry coastal dunes, where water is prepared from tap water.) Earlier I've seen Gonia ornata, but these look a bit different: more blackish. Is this just wear and tear?

Gonia ornata can be black, but more likely this is G. picea. Rather rare in the dunes, it replaces ornata inland. Theo |

For comparison two others, slightly different place (2 km maybe). How sure is the ID of picea, btw? Cor Zonneveld attached the following image: [98.75Kb] Edited by Cor Zonneveld on 03-05-2008 20:56 Thanks for your attention Cor Zonneveld |
