Hello,
Today I met a Sylvicola on a Euphorbia inflorescence in our arboretum. I know that S. fenestralis has a brownish appearance (body, legs), but this one looks rather greyish. Could it be S. punctatus?
Thanks for help, Sundew

The most apical marking in the wing does not extend posteriorly beyond R2+3, so it is not punctatus. It can be either one of S. (A.) fuscatoides, S. (A.) stackelbergi or S. (A.) fuscatus but these can be separated on the basis of their genitalia only.

Ok, Sylvicola spec. then (with explanation added). Does the (A.) mean Anisopus, and is it possibly an open question whether this species group belongs to Anisopus or to Sylvicola? Otherwise I don't understand why you added the "(A.)"...
Thanks for help, Sundew

There are two subgenera in Sylvicola, the separating character is the first character mentioned in THIS KEY.
