hi flyforum, Today I found a several Tachinidae sp. which remembers me of Phryxe (nemea). There where some signs which make me doubt.. - This fly got obvious antenne! (or is it just perspective of the picture?) - the colour of some parts of the face is a bit dark (sloppy), but this could be flash-reflection. What do you think?, is it Phryxe nemea? or what else? Yes, I missed it.. I have looked at the orbital setae. See al lot of hairs and I can see some strong setea. But if this is one pair? Find it difficult to claim.. I coloured the setae in the picture, is it just one pair? Then it should be Cyzenis albicans? In the picture, it is the bristle that bends over the eye. So the lowest of the arrows and its counterpart (which has no arrow) This is unnatural, in most cases they are proclinate. Theo |

Cyzenis albicans is a new species for me.. I've wathced several of my pictures, to see that there is one (pair of) proclinate orbital setae. I think I got the point (the orbital setae), I am looking forward to a good picture which can illustrate this more.. And there is space for a good picture in 'the galery' Thank you very much Theo for your time and explination. Greeting, Robert Heemskerk ---- WWW: http://robertheem...ndedag.htm --- |
