S. pumila isn't a probable ID: the first photo shows a shadowy marginal bristle on T3 of the abdomen. According to Pape 1987 this occurs "occasionally" but I have not seen it. There are many other candidate species. So, next time: catch the fly and photograph wing, head, abdomen, genitalia, and chaetotaxy. Studying this photo more has no sense. Jan HC Velterop. |
