I keyed this Tachinid with Chris & Matt's test version of Belshaw. I can't get it to key out successfully though. The closest I have got is Eumena, which does not look right (from a photo I have seen). Any suggestions? conopid attached the following image: [133.13Kb] Edited by conopid on 15-03-2008 17:12 Nigel Jones, Shrewsbury, United Kingdom |

I forgot to mention this is an early season fly - 21 April. A couple more views. I meant Eumea, not Eumena (sorry about that) conopid attached the following image: [83.17Kb] Nigel Jones, Shrewsbury, United Kingdom |

IT's not Exoristinae, but more Tachininae. If it is about 8 mm long, from april and the vertex is rather narrow: Lypha dubia. Theo |

Thanks Theo, I'll check this out and see where I have gone wrong in the key.

Let me know, it could be something else. For some reason, I have trouble to get it from these pics. Theo |
