Can somebody ID this Ichneumonidae? Maybe Dolichomitus (imperator?) ? It was at least 2 cm. I took the photo at 29 april 2008. The place was a wooden fence between forest and meadow.

Dolichomitus are impossible to separate in photograph, the end of the drill must be visible at the height enlargement!

Do you have any zoom on the thorax? I think I guess some wrinckles on it so it'll be Rhyssella approximator, an Ichneumonidae Rhyssinae. A common species.

Hello!

And D. imperator is very unlikely to be found in April (2008???). It's an autumn species (I find most Dolichomitus here in October).

Thanks to all for the replies. I cropped another photo from another angle. The little spots are reflections of the flash. The photos are from 2007, a little mistake of me. I keep the EXIF in my photos by the way.

No sorry this is not the right angle. I need to see the upper face of the thorax. A zoom on the thorax of the first of second picture would be good...

You ask, we deliver Smile The quality is not that good due to the flash reflections.
