Telmatogeton – marine habitat and trilobed tarsomere 5. Some of these shoreline species come out only at spring tide, so the full moon is a good time to look for them. Edited by John Carr on 14-02-2025 15:43 |

Telmatogeton is known from the Mediterranean only from recently discovered larvae along the coast of Egypt. They were not assigned to a species. My suspicion is T. japonicus has expanded its range. A native species would have been discovered earlier. The related species Thalassomyia frauenfeldi is widespread in the region. The fifth tarsomere of Thalassomyia is simpler. |
