12 Juni 2024, Netherlands Observation: https://waarneming.nl/observation/314166963/ My attempt 1 presutural dc, costa extending, hind tibia with av + ad, hind tibia without a long strong posterodorsal preapical bristle, squama projecting beyond upper, hind tibia without posterodorsals, apical section (after cross-vein) of postical vein (= M3) around 1.5 as long as postical crossvein (= M), can we see multiple pv on hind femur?, 2 propleural bristles present, presutural acrostichal rows more approximated (as apposed to 2 regular rows) -> Coenosia campestris/pudorosa? Description of "Coenosia campestris" does not seem to match. The hind femur does not become faintly darker dorsally at the apex, instead in becomes darker at the base. The description of "Coenosia pudorosa" does seem to match (frontal vitta black, scutum with 3 brownish lines, flagellomere dark, coxae greyish, fore femur predominantly darkened, darkening of hind/mid femur more conspicuous, paired spots usually visible on tergites 2-5). |

I have a couple of uncertainties: ------ One of the parts I am unsure about is the posterodorsal preapical bristle on the hind tibia. Am I correct to say the arrow in the picture below points to a true dorsal bristle? With some smaller bristles behind, that might account for posterodorsal preapical (but not strong, as mentioned in the key). Does the below arrow point to the posteroventral bristle on the apical half of the hind femur? Might be a bit hard to say from this angle. But it does seem to indicate a different angle than the longer bristles besides, which seem to be more true ventrally. The last question is about the propleural bristles. Do we see 1 propleural bristle (the other one being on the proepimeron), or are there 2 propleural bristles? Or am I completely looking wrong? Edited by smol on 27-01-2025 12:38 |
