Hello,

I photographed this fly near San Bernolfo (CN), Italy, 1700m a.s.l. on August 22nd 2024. I think it is a Tachinidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species based on these photos? Unfortunately it flew away before I could take some lateral shots.

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Parafacial seems bare, Smidtia conspersa has DC 3+3 and amoenaa adpressednhairs on teegites. Moreover, the apical scutellar is semi-erect. So my gut feeling is Hubneria.
Pity the humeral bristles are not clear on pictures.

Thank you both for your help. I knew it wasn't easy, given the pictures.
