Dear, On July 14th I was able to catch another flie using a trap with rotting meat. Does anyone know what family, genus or species this is? If necessary I can take an extra photo of a specific characteristic. Thanks a lot in advance! Ward attached the following image: [95.04Kb] |

It looks like Ulidiidae but I can't place it using the Manual of Afrotropical Diptera. In the key it goes to couplets 6-7 (Acrosticta/Pseudeuxesta/Euxesta) and does not match either of the species of that group known from eastern Africa. Is the frons smooth? Are there small hairs dorsally on R1 distal to the tip of the subcostal vein? |
