Hello together,

I photographed this fly on July 14, 2024 on the edge of a stream in the Black Forest (southwest Germany) at an altitude of about 800 m. It probably belongs to the genus Ibisia. Can I say more, perhaps a female Ibisia marginata?

Greetings Siggi

Hi Siggi, you are right: it's a female Atherix marginata (Ibisia marginata)

So lucky. Only a few days ago I found Atherix marginata for the first time and today I was able to observe their special reproduction. The eggs were stuck to leaves above the water of a stream. I had never seen anything like it before. I wanted to show you the pictures.
