Hello,

I photographed this fly in Valle dell'Orta (PE), Italy, 300m a.s.l. on September 3rd 2023. I think it is a Tephritidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

I am preparing a world revision of this genus.
May I kindly ask you to grant me a permission to use the 2nd picture in my publication, including your name.
Please write me a private message here or to

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
