Hello,

I found this gallmidge on Juli 17, 2021 in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Could it be identified further? (I know that this is quite unlikely with Cecidomyiids, but I thought I would try anyways.. )

Thank you for your help!

Supertribe Cecicomyiidi based on the antennae, possibly Lestodiplosis based on the wing pattern.

You can repeat my comment. I don't know if there are any other genera with the same wing pattern.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
