Hello!

Is it possible to say more about this 2 mm Chironomidae female from our house yesterday (Ostwestfalen/Germany)?

I'm not an expert, but it looks like a Chironomus plumosus.(female)
But then the sice is wrong, because the plumosus is about 9 mm.
Mayby somebody else knows better or more....

Thanks for your reply, but this one was really only about 2 mm. I have seen members of the genus Chironomus, they were indeed much bigger.
Best regards,
Jürgen

Not Chironomus or Chironominae, this midge belongs to a different subfamily. I have simiar photos, and could not get any appreciable help so far to id them.
