Hi all !

On 2023-10-16 I pictured this specimen in my garden.
I had many trouble identifying this one as Bellardia bayeri femelle, but :

I first found pictures of B. bayeri on flickr (Steven Falk) with this discriminatif caracteristic : "Showing the dark spot at the top of the parafacialia which is one of the characteristics of B. bayeri (compare with other Bellardia) ... only 4 species in UK.

Here on Diptera.info I found this comment of Stephane Lebrun : Bellardia bayeri is the only one of the genus with brown calypters (see https://diptera.i...d_id=69905
. "No, they are not on the same line : 3 is the post-alar.
This one gave me a headache. In my (not expert) opinion, this is Bellardia bayeri., the only european described Bellardia with infuscated lower calypter. I'm not sure it has the required brown spot on parafacial from these pictures."

Add that this specimen has only one setae in pd on fore tibia !

With such habitus and chaetotaxy (including intra alars )

All pictures give some caracter for identification.

Could I expect some validation or comments about this observation ?

Thank you for reading !

EDIT to add a picture of the intra alars ... and the V shape on the thorax !

Have a good day !
