Hello, this is my first thread here!

I saw this Tachinid fly August 18th, 2023 that I managed to ID down to Microphtalma species. I believe it is most likely M. disjuncta. Is it possible to tell from these photos? Location: Lynchburg Virginia

It looks like Microphthalma disjuncta, which is now thought to be a species group.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
