Found this one above the beach at Alameda, San Francisco on 15th July 2023. ID'able from these photos?

I think Linnaemya comta, according to the key of Brooks (1944) the only North American species with pale-haired pleura. In place of a description he adds, "This species is sufficiently well known in both adult and immature stages so that no additional description is needed."

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
