Hello Forum, the fly on the attached picture I photographed on June 6th 2007 in an (artificial) alder marshland in Hagen (Germany)- 175 m above see level. The plant in the background is Petasites hybridus. My first impression is Lucilia caesar. Is that right or not? Josef It is a female Lucilia, but not enough detail is visible to give you a species. I would say it is probably not L caesar though. Susan |
