Hello everyone,

I fotographed this fly today in southwest Germany on a dry meadow. The size was about 10 mm. I think, it could be Peleteria iavana. This species was proven in Germany 2011 at first time. Could that be?

Greetings Siggi

Hello Siggi, I think Peleteria iavana (was: P. varia) is correct.

Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
