I think this species is represented in the gallery, but I am not confident.

Andre, Valery

Thx for your help with this and the other thread.

In the gallery one should either transfer Neria sp to Neriidae or unite Micropezidae with Neriidae.

Neria is a genus name, no familyname. Belongs to the Calobatinae, Micropezidae.
Neriidae is nothing, as far as I know..

Xespok and Andre,

You could not be more wrong. The name of the family Neriidae is based on the genus Nerius and this is a valid family in its own right. The genus Neria belongs to the Micropezidae.

You can see even more spectacular photos of the very same species on this website taken by the famous photograher........ meSmile

But I did not realize that Neriidae comes from Nerius, a genus which I have never heard of. So one mystery less left.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
