Today I found this tiny fly (body lenght just a few mm) against our house. I suspect it is Heleomyzidae, possibly genus Scoliocentra, but I'm not sure. Could anyone help with the identification of this fly? Thanks in advance. Pic 1 Jan Zwaaneveld attached the following image: [54.21Kb] http://slamenietd...web-log.nl |

Hello, Jan! The shape of the wings suggests Lonchopteridae. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

J?rgen is right. This is a Lonchoptera species, probably L. lutea.

Ah, thank you Juergen and Jan Willem. I completely overlooked the possibility of Lonchoperidae!
