date: 15 April 2023; location: in Hamburg, Germany; at groundfloor on the wall of a house; the house has a small garden close to a park with large trees and a pond; temperature: about 13°C with some sun; about 9 mm long; probably a Tachinidae species, but what genus?
Thank you for any ID comments!
Best regards, Volker

Thanks a lot for your help!
(pictures 1 and 3 were obtained by focus stacking macro photography, as the fly sat motionless on the wall)

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
