hi flyforum, I got this fly out of my archive from august 2007. It was found on a tree in the Amsterdam forest, a place near a canal. It is quite a 'hairy' Muscidae, isn't it? Phaonia perhabs? light yellowish beard, browny cheek, light-yellow spiracle, plumo arista, the end of the scutellum is light(oranje-braun) Suggestion's are welcome Robert Heemskerk attached the following image: [168.38Kb] Edited by Robert Heemskerk on 23-01-2008 13:20 |

It's not Muscina - no bend in M. It appears to have The Phaonia Bristle, so I think it is Phaonia sp.
