Hello everyone !

I'm having a bit of trouble to find the family of this fly... The wing nervation looks like a Psychodidae but there's no hair...what do you think ?

This one has been collected in a woodland area (forest of Orléans) in the Center of France, in April 2021.

Definitely Psychodidae, why it has no hairs I don't know. Antennae are incomplete but tribus Pericomaini is certain.

Very few hairs (if any) remain on any psychodid in alcohol...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
