I photographed this unknown rachispoda on 29th October in Den Helder in The Netherlands. It was attracted to light.

Does someone know which species is this?

Thanks a lot.

Greetings,
Mario Renden

Try R. lutosa/lutosoidea, not all of the features are clear; however, I think it will be one or the other

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
