date: 28. Oct. 2022; location: in Hamburg, Germany; in a small nature reserve at a little river with meadows, some trees and shrubs an small ponds; fly sitting on the leaves of reed in one of these ponds; size: 7-10 mm (estimated); probably a fly from the family Sciomyzidae, perhaps Elgiva solicita? Thank you for any ID help! Best regards, Volker Volker Achterberg attached the following image: [246.83Kb] Edited by Volker Achterberg on 02-11-2022 12:37 |

Thanks, Fred, for confirmation of the suggested ID. Indeed, the first specimen was in the sun, the other in the shadow. Best regards, Volker |
