Photographed on 22nd October 2022 on farm track near sheep pasture in Warwickshire. Nearby crops during the summer were beans, wheat, maize, and flax.

Scathophagidae: Scathophaga decipiens (might be possible that in GB it is still called Conisternum decipiens)

Thanks Fred I was looking at wing veins and they just didn’t look like Scathophagidae. Mind you they didn’t look like much else either.
