Hello,
In the south of France on October 26, 2022.
A small Sepsis of 3 mm.
Can we go to the species with the shape of the abdomen, the enlargement at the base of the tibia 3 and spines on the femur 1?
Thanks for your advice

Would it be Sepsis fulgens with these criteria?

Hello Liliane, I think Sepsis fulgens is correct - for instance the ventral protuberance on fore femur seems to fit to the drawing in "The Sepsidae of Europe, Pont/Meier".

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
