Hello, Though I checked several threads concerning black tachinids, I feel not able to identify this fly myself. Phyllomyia looks rather similar; however, there seem to be other genera that might fit as well. So I'd like to leave the naming to the experts - thanks in advance! (Island of Usedom, August 2007.) No, it's Phania. Most likely Ph. funesta, but I can't see it for sure. By far the most common species of Phania. Theo |
