Spotted this one on the wing mirror of my hire-car in a lay-by just outside the town of Alyth in Scotland. Looks like a female Haematopota pluvialis going by pics in the Gallery. Correct ID??

Thanks Theo, it's the first Horse Fly I've ever seen. We don't get any in Shetland. They have more sense than to move here! |
