Hi All

I saw a couple of Ectemnius wasps on the edge of woodland, at a Ketton NNR.
Much of which is old quarry workings.

I know these are not easy to identify from photographs but one of them in
particular stood out with a wide black band across the abdomen. I think this
might be Ectemnius rubicola.

The second one, I am oit sure of at all.

Could someone please take a look and advise me?

Yours, Gareth

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
