Next agonizing fly: it looks very much like a Polietes, but Gregor et al state that the male's fronto-orbital plate should touch! Maybe it's inside a tolerance?

To quote Steven Falk on his P. lardarius album on flickr " Males have the eyes narrowly separated on top of the head whereas in females, the frons is about one-third the head width". I suppose my fly's eyes are " narrowly separated" so I reckon I'm right on this one (which makes a change)

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
